Jocelyn's research focuses on community engagement in climate adaptation policymaking. She is studying what types of and whether greater participation improve the content and robustness of U.S. municipal climate adaptation plans-how communities respond to the changes in climate and weather that are already occurring, as opposed to climate mitigation policies. She also looks at whether these factors increase implementation, residential satisfaction, sustainability outcomes, or overall resilience. Jocelyn is also interested in the complexities of climate-induced displacement and mobility as adaptation, and how to 'right size' climate adaptation planning and policymaking to reduce friction across governance jurisdictions and scales.
