ABOUT
Led by Isavella Vouza (DPhil Candidate, Faculty of English Language and Literature) and Professor Emma Bond (Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages), "Narratives of Migration" is an interdisciplinary conference aimed at fostering dialogue among researchers in the Humanities, the Social Sciences, and creative practitioners who work in the field of migration studies.
Organized by Migration Oxford, the Faculty of English Language and Literature, and the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, the conference features academic research and creative work across cultural genres and media forms.
Our keynote speakers include world-renowned Professor of World Literature in English Elleke Boehmer (Faculty of English Language and Literature), and Refugee Hosts' Writer-in-Residence and award-winning poet Yousif M. Qasmiyeh. Through the conference, we hope to show how cultural representation enhances, challenges or opens up new routes to incorporating a Humanities perspective within migration studies.
